Self-Declared ‘Queen of Canada’ Romana Didulo Arrested Alongside 16 Followers in Saskatchewan

Romana Didulo, a self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada,” and 16 of her associates were arrested by the Saskatchewan RCMP during a raid on a privately owned, decommissioned school in Richmound. Authorities seized four replica handguns and eight recreational vehicles (RVs) during the operation. The group had been occupying the property since September 2023.

Didulo, originally from the Philippines, has emerged in Canada as a fringe political figure, promoting conspiracy theories, sovereign citizen ideologies, and QAnon-aligned claims. She has a large following on Telegram, exceeding 36,000, and has issued online decrees intended to nullify debts and bills. Many of her followers reportedly suffered financial losses after acting on her directives.

The arrest highlights growing concerns about the real-world impact of fringe movements. Didulo’s followers have previously engaged in confrontational and disruptive actions, including attempting citizen arrests of police and causing disturbances near schools. Her group also participated in the 2022 Ottawa “Freedom Convoy.”

During the raid, Didulo streamed portions of the event on Telegram, with armed officers visible in the background. While the arrests were made, no formal charges have been filed yet. Authorities have indicated a 24-hour window to determine the next legal steps for those in custody.

RCMP officials emphasized that investigations are ongoing and warned the public about the potential risks associated with the group’s activities, which include anti-government and anti-healthcare rhetoric.
