ഏലിയൻ രജിസ്ട്രേഷൻ ആക്ട് പ്രകാരം രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുള്ള അവസാന തീയതി ഏപ്രിൽ 11 ആയിരുന്നു.

Foreigners in the U.S. Must Register by Law — Even Children!

All foreign nationals residing in the United States for more than 30 days are required to register with the federal government, effective April 11, 2025. Those who fail to register will face strict penalties, including fines, imprisonment, and deportation.

Under the new rule, newly arrived foreign nationals must register within one month of entry if they do not possess valid documentation. Additionally, children turning 14 must re-register, regardless of any prior registration status.

According to the regulation, all foreign nationals—including visa holders and legal permanent residents—must carry proof of registration at all times.

The deadline to register under the Alien Registration Act was April 11.

Penalties for non-compliance include a fine of up to 5,000 U.S. dollars, imprisonment for up to 30 days, deportation, and a permanent ban on re-entry into the country.

Karoline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, stated that the rule is intended to enhance national security and support law enforcement efforts. By implementing this rule, the government aims to gain a clearer understanding of who is in the country, thereby ensuring the safety and security of both the nation and all American citizens.
