കാനഡയിൽ വിമാനാപകടം: ഇന്ത്യക്കാരൻ ഉൾപ്പെടെ രണ്ട് വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പൈലറ്റുകൾ മരിച്ചു

കാനഡയിലെ മാനിറ്റോബയിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ഒരു വിമാനാപകടത്തിൽ രണ്ട് യുവ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പൈലറ്റുമാർ മരിച്ചു. അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനായ ശ്രീഹരി സുകേഷ് ആയിരുന്നു. മറ്റൊരാൾ കാനഡയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള 20 വയസ്സുള്ള സാവന്ന മെയ് റോയ്‌സ് ആയിരുന്നു. പിതാവിനെപ്പോലെ പൈലറ്റാകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ഒരു ചെറിയ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന് സമീപം ലാൻഡിംഗ്, ടേക്ക് ഓഫിംഗ് പരിശീലിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് ഇരുവരും അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെട്ടത്. ഒറ്റ എഞ്ചിൻ വിമാനങ്ങൾ പറത്തുകയായിരുന്നു അവർ, ഹാർവ്സ് എയർ എന്ന പ്രാദേശിക ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് സ്കൂളിൽ പരിശീലനം നടത്തുകയായിരുന്നു അവർ. ദുഃഖകരമെന്നു പറയട്ടെ, രണ്ട് വിമാനങ്ങളും തകർന്നുവീണു നശിച്ചു. വിമാനത്തിൽ മറ്റാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമെന്താണെന്ന് കനേഡിയൻ സുരക്ഷാ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ഇപ്പോൾ പരിശോധിച്ചുവരികയാണ്. ശ്രീഹരിയുടെ കുടുംബത്തെ ഇന്ത്യൻ കോൺസുലേറ്റ് സഹായിക്കുന്നു.

വിമാന പരിശീലനം എത്രത്തോളം ശ്രദ്ധാപൂർവ്വമായിരിക്കണമെന്നും വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പൈലറ്റുമാർക്ക് സുരക്ഷ എത്രത്തോളം പ്രധാനമാണെന്നും ഈ ദുഃഖകരമായ അപകടം കാണിക്കുന്നു.

Two Student Pilots, including one Indian Die in Plane Crash in Canada

Two young student pilots died in a mid-air crash in Manitoba, Canada. One of them was Sreehari Sukesh from India. The other was Savanna May Royes, a 20-year-old from Canada who wanted to become a pilot like her father.

The crash happened while both were practising landing and takeoff near a small airport. They were flying single-engine planes and were training at a local flight school called Harv’s Air. Sadly, both planes crashed and were destroyed. No one else was on board.

Canadian safety officers are now checking what caused the crash. The Indian Consulate is helping Sreehari’s family.

This sad accident shows how careful flight training needs to be, and how important safety is for student pilots.
