Brampton Teens Used Fake 2SLGBTQ+ Profiles to Lure & Rob Victims

In Brampton, Canada, three teenagers of Indian origin have been linked to a series of violent robberies. Police say the suspects used social media, mainly Snapchat, to pretend they were part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. They built trust with victims online and then lured them to locations where they were robbed, sometimes at gunpoint.

So far, five people have been arrested and charged with robbery and kidnapping. Another suspect is still wanted, and police believe there may be more victims who are too scared to come forward.

Investigators say these attacks mostly targeted South Asian victims and are connected to a larger pattern of crimes against South Asian-owned businesses in the Greater Toronto Area.
