Grocery prices in Canada are showing a mixed trend this year. While fresh vegetables like carrots, green beans, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts have become cheaper, many other everyday items are getting costlier.

Meat prices—especially beef—have gone up the most, with an increase of around 12.7%. Canned foods, potatoes, and some protein items are also more expensive, mainly because of tariffs and supply-chain problems. Although overall food inflation has slowed down, the changes are uneven across different categories.

Shoppers are adapting to these price changes by comparing prices at different stores, planning their shopping ahead, and buying and freezing items to save money for the upcoming holiday season.
