Alberta Opens More Doors for Skilled Workers in 2025

Alberta is offering more opportunities for skilled workers to move to the province in 2025. In July alone, six rounds of invitations were held, bringing 382 candidates closer to permanent residency.

These invitations were issued through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) and Express Entry streams, which help the province find workers for important industries.

The focus was on sectors like healthcare, agriculture, aviation, and law enforcement, where Alberta needs more workers. Some applicants needed valid job offers, and the required scores to qualify were quite low in some cases—between 49 and 72 points, depending on the job category.
