Water Restriction in Bowmanville Due to Heat Wave

Bowmanville, a town in Ontario, is currently under strict water restrictions because of a strong heat wave. The heat has pushed temperatures into the high 30s and even 40s, with very high humidity.

Durham Region has ordered all residents to stop using water for non-essential activities, both inside and outside the home. This means no watering gardens, washing cars, or filling pools. The goal is to save enough water for emergencies like putting out fires.

The situation is more serious because the town’s water treatment plant is having a maintenance issue. One of the filter systems is down, which means less water is being treated. However, officials say the water that is available is still safe to use.

The heat wave is expected to reduce by Wednesday, but the water restrictions will stay in place until further notice. Residents are being asked to use water very carefully and only when truly needed.
