2026 മെയ് 25 മുതൽ 27 വരെ കേന്ദ്ര വാണിജ്യ മന്ത്രി പീയൂഷ് ഗോയൽ മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തെ സന്ദർശനം ആരംഭിച്ചതോടെ ഇന്ത്യ കാനഡയിലേക്ക് തങ്ങളുടെ എക്കാലത്തെയും വലിയ വ്യാപാര, നിക്ഷേപ പ്രതിനിധി സംഘത്തെ അയച്ചു. സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ, ഊർജ്ജം, ഓട്ടോമൊബൈൽസ്, എയ്‌റോസ്‌പേസ്, ഫാർമസ്യൂട്ടിക്കൽസ്, ലോഹങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള മേഖലകളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള 100–150-ലധികം ഇന്ത്യൻ ബിസിനസ്സ് നേതാക്കൾ സന്ദർശനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.

ഇരു രാജ്യങ്ങളും തമ്മിലുള്ള നിർദ്ദിഷ്ട സ്വതന്ത്ര വ്യാപാര കരാറായ ഇന്ത്യ-കാനഡ സമഗ്ര സാമ്പത്തിക പങ്കാളിത്ത കരാറിനെ (സിഇപിഎ) കുറിച്ചുള്ള ചർച്ചകൾ വേഗത്തിലാക്കുക എന്നതാണ് സന്ദർശനത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യം. 2030 ആകുമ്പോഴേക്കും നിലവിലുള്ള 8 ബില്യൺ യുഎസ് ഡോളറിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 50 ബില്യൺ യുഎസ് ഡോളറായി ഉഭയകക്ഷി വ്യാപാരം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കാനാണ് ഇന്ത്യയും കാനഡയും ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.

ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കും കാനഡയ്ക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള പ്രൊഫഷണലുകൾക്കും ബിസിനസുകാർക്കും യാത്രയും ചലനവും എളുപ്പമാക്കുന്ന “മൊബിലിറ്റി ചാപ്റ്റർ” ആണ് ചർച്ച ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്ന മറ്റൊരു പ്രധാന വിഷയം.

India Sends Biggest-Ever Trade Team to Canada to Boost Economic Ties

India has sent its largest-ever trade and investment delegation to Canada as Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal began a three-day visit from May 25–27, 2026. More than 100–150 Indian business leaders from sectors including technology, energy, automobiles, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and metals are part of the visit.

The main goal of the visit is to speed up talks on the India–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), a proposed free trade deal between the two countries. India and Canada aim to increase bilateral trade from the current USD 8 billion to around USD 50 billion by 2030.

Another important topic under discussion is the “Mobility Chapter,” which could make travel and movement easier for professionals and business people between India and Canada.

The visit is being seen as a major step toward improving trade relations and opening new opportunities for businesses and skilled professionals in both countries.
