ഡാർക്ക് വെബ്ബ് മറവിൽ മയക്കുമരുന്ന് വ്യാപാരം; ഏഴ് പേർ പിടിയിൽ

കാനഡയിലുടനീളം മയക്കുമരുന്ന് കയറ്റി അയച്ചിരുന്ന “റോഡ് റണ്ണ” എന്ന വലിയ ഡാർക്ക്-വെബ് മയക്കുമരുന്ന് ശൃംഖലയെ ആർ‌സി‌എം‌പി പൊളിച്ചുമാറ്റി. എല്ലാ ആഴ്ചയും ഏകദേശം 400 പാക്കറ്റ് നിയമവിരുദ്ധ മയക്കുമരുന്നുകൾ അയയ്ക്കുന്നതിന് പിന്നിൽ ഈ സംഘമായിരുന്നു.

ജർമ്മൻ അധികാരികൾ ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ഓപ്പറേഷൻ എടുത്ത് കനേഡിയൻ പോലീസുമായി വിവരങ്ങൾ പങ്കിട്ടതിന് ശേഷമാണ് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. ഇത് ആർ‌സി‌എം‌പിയുടെ വാൻകൂവർ സൈബർ ക്രൈം യൂണിറ്റിനെ വിശാലമായ ഒരു ശൃംഖല കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിലേക്ക് നയിച്ചു, പിന്നീട് ഒന്റാറിയോയിലെ സീരിയസ് ആൻഡ് ഓർഗനൈസ്ഡ് ക്രൈം യൂണിറ്റ് ഇത് അന്വേഷിച്ചു.

FINTRAC, Europol, Canada Post Security എന്നിവയുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ തിരച്ചിൽ നടത്തി 75 കിലോഗ്രാം മയക്കുമരുന്ന്, 10,000 ഗുളികകൾ, ഇലക്ട്രോണിക്സ്, പാക്കേജിംഗ് വസ്തുക്കൾ എന്നിവ പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു.

വിൽപ്പനക്കാരുടെ ഐഡന്റിറ്റികൾ മറയ്ക്കാനും കണ്ടെത്തൽ ഒഴിവാക്കാനും ഡാർക്ക് വെബ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നതായി പോലീസ് പറയുന്നു.

ഒന്റാറിയോയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഏഴ് പേരെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുകയും മനുഷ്യക്കടത്തിന് ഗൂഢാലോചന, കൈവശം വയ്ക്കൽ എന്നീ കുറ്റങ്ങൾ ചുമത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ഡാർക്ക് വെബ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ക്രിമിനൽ ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളെ ലക്ഷ്യം വയ്ക്കുന്നത് തുടരുമെന്ന് ആർ‌സി‌എം‌പി ഊന്നിപ്പറഞ്ഞു, കാരണം ഈ നെറ്റ്‌വർക്കുകൾ കൂടുതൽ സങ്കീർണ്ണമായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

RCMP Shuts Down Major Dark-Web Drug Network “RoadRunna” in Canada

The RCMP has dismantled a large dark-web drug network called “RoadRunna” that was shipping drugs across Canada. The group was behind about 400 packages of illegal drugs sent every week.

The investigation started after German authorities took down a related operation and shared information with Canadian police. This led the RCMP’s Vancouver Cybercrime Unit to uncover a wider network, later investigated by the Serious and Organized Crime Unit in Ontario.

With the help of FINTRAC, Europol, and Canada Post Security, officers carried out searches and seized 75 kilograms of narcotics, 10,000 pills, and Electronics and packaging materials

Police say the dark web was used to hide the sellers’ identities and avoid detection.

Seven men from Ontario were arrested and charged with conspiracy and possession for trafficking.

The RCMP stressed that they will continue targeting criminal groups using the dark web, as these networks are becoming more sophisticated.
