Canada–India Trade Deal Set to Explode to $70B!

Canada and India are working towards improving their economic and diplomatic relationship after a period of strained ties.

Under Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, both countries are now focusing on rebuilding cooperation through a “two-track” economic approach.

A major development is the progress of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently led a large business delegation to Canada, where discussions were held with Canadian International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu. Both sides confirmed that the CEPA trade deal is moving steadily toward finalisation by the end of 2026.

The agreement is expected to significantly boost trade between the two countries, with a target of increasing total bilateral trade to around $50–70 billion by 2030.
