ഇതിനാൽ 2021നെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഇപ്പോൾ മിനിമം വേതനം ലഭിക്കുന്ന തൊഴിലാളികൾക്ക് വാർഷികമായി ഏകദേശം $6,448 അധിക വരുമാനം ലഭിക്കുമെന്നാണ് വിലയിരുത്തൽ.

Canada Raises Federal Minimum Wage to $18.10 from April 1 Amid Rising Living Costs

The federal minimum wage in Canada has been increased again in response to the rising cost of living and inflation. Effective April 1, the minimum wage for workers in federally regulated industries will increase from $17.75 per hour to approximately $18.10.

It is estimated that with this increase, the annual income of minimum wage workers will increase to approximately $37,648.

The federal minimum wage is automatically adjusted on April 1 each year based on Statistics Canada’s inflation index. Since the system began in 2021, it has increased by about $3.10 per hour over the past five years.

This is estimated to mean that workers currently earning minimum wage will earn an additional annual income of approximately $6,448 compared to 2021.

Reports indicate that this wage increase is seen as a relief for workers facing rising living costs.

Officials also stated that this annual adjustment system was introduced to reduce the financial pressure on workers in the face of rising daily living costs.
