Canada Travel Chaos: Hundreds of Flights Delayed, Dozens Cancelled Nationwide

Air travel across Canada was heavily disrupted on February 28, 2026, with 226 delays and 42 cancellations reported nationwide.

The worst-hit airport was Toronto Pearson International Airport, followed by Vancouver International Airport and Montréal–Trudeau International Airport. Regional airports including Calgary International Airport, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, St. John’s International Airport, and Kuujjuaq Airport also reported disruptions.

Flights operated by Air Canada and Air Inuit were among the most affected.

Passengers are advised to check flight status regularly and use rebooking or refund options available under Canada’s Air Passenger Protection Regulations.
