ഇറാൻ സർക്കാരിനെതിരെ നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങൾക്ക് പിന്തുണ അറിയിക്കാൻ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ആളുകൾ ടൊറന്റോ നഗരമധ്യത്തിൽ ഒത്തുകൂടി. കൺഫ്ലുവൻസ് സ്ക്വയറിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച പ്രകടനം നഗരവീഥികളിലൂടെ സമാധാനപരമായ ഒരു മാർച്ചായി തുടർന്നു.

മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ശബ്ദിക്കുന്ന നിരായുധരായ സാധാരണക്കാരെ ഇറാനിയൻ സുരക്ഷാ സേന കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണെന്ന് പ്രതിഷേധക്കാർ ആരോപിച്ചു. ഇറാനിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളുടെ സുരക്ഷയെ ഭയന്ന് പങ്കെടുത്ത പലരും തങ്ങളുടെ ഐഡന്റിറ്റി വെളിപ്പെടുത്താൻ തയ്യാറായില്ല.

ഇറാനിലെ സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യമില്ലായ്മ, കർശനമായ വസ്ത്രധാരണ നിയമങ്ങൾ, കഠിനമായ ശിക്ഷകൾ എന്നിവയുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളിലാണ് റാലി ശക്തമായി ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചത്. സാമ്പത്തിക പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളെച്ചൊല്ലി ആദ്യം ആരംഭിച്ച പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ നിലവിലെ ഭരണകൂടത്തെ നീക്കം ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന ശക്തമായ ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രസ്ഥാനമായി വളർന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് സംഘാടകർ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഇറാനിലെ അടിച്ചമർത്തൽ നടപടികൾ തടയാൻ പാശ്ചാത്യ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ അടിയന്തര നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് പരിപാടിയിലെ പ്രഭാഷകർ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. മോൺട്രിയൽ, ഒട്ടാവ തുടങ്ങിയ മറ്റ് കനേഡിയൻ നഗരങ്ങളിലും സമാനമായ ഐക്യദാർഢ്യ പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങൾ നടന്നു. മാർച്ചിൽ സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കാൻ ധാരാളം പോലീസ് സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്നു.

Toronto Protest Shows Support for Iran’s Anti-Regime Movement

Thousands of people gathered in downtown Toronto to show support for ongoing protests against Iran’s government. The demonstration began at Confluence Square and continued as a peaceful march through the city streets.

Protesters accused Iranian security forces of killing unarmed civilians who speak up for human rights. Many participants chose not to reveal their identities, saying they feared for the safety of their family members living in Iran.

The rally focused strongly on the lack of freedom for women in Iran, including strict dress code rules and harsh punishments. Organizers said the protests, which first started over economic problems, have now grown into a strong political movement demanding the removal of the current regime.

Speakers at the event urged Western countries to take immediate action to stop the crackdown in Iran. Similar solidarity protests were also held in other Canadian cities such as Montreal and Ottawa. Police were present in large numbers to ensure security during the march.
