പൊതുജന സുരക്ഷ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനൊപ്പം വ്യാപാര, വിതരണ ശൃംഖലകൾ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും കാനഡ പ്രായോഗികവും സന്തുലിതവുമായ സമീപനം പിന്തുടരുമെന്ന് വിദേശകാര്യ മന്ത്രി അനിത ആനന്ദ് പറഞ്ഞു.

2005 ലെ കാനഡ-ചൈന തന്ത്രപരമായ പങ്കാളിത്തം ഇന്നത്തെ ആഗോള സാഹചര്യത്തിന് കൂടുതൽ അനുയോജ്യമാക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ചർച്ചകൾ നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. വിശാലമായ ഇന്തോ-പസഫിക് തന്ത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മറ്റ് ഏഷ്യ-പസഫിക് രാജ്യങ്ങളുമായും ശക്തമായ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ കാനഡ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു.

അതേസമയം, വ്യാപാരത്തെയും താരിഫുകളെയും കുറിച്ച് ആശങ്കകളുള്ള അമേരിക്കയിൽ നിന്ന് കാനഡ സമ്മർദ്ദം നേരിടുന്നു. വാഷിംഗ്ടണുമായും ബീജിംഗുമായും വിശ്വാസം നിലനിർത്താൻ കാനഡ ശ്രദ്ധാപൂർവ്വം നീങ്ങുകയും വ്യക്തമായി ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് വിദഗ്ദ്ധർ പറയുന്നു.

മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങൾക്കും അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര നിയമങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രതിജ്ഞാബദ്ധത പുലർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്, സാമ്പത്തിക സമ്മർദ്ദം കുറയ്ക്കുക, കയറ്റുമതി വൈവിധ്യവൽക്കരിക്കുക, ഊർജ്ജം, ഉൽപ്പാദനം തുടങ്ങിയ മേഖലകളിൽ സ്ഥിരതയുള്ള വ്യാപാര ഓപ്ഷനുകൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുക എന്നിവയാണ് തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രധാന ലക്ഷ്യമെന്ന് സർക്കാർ പറയുന്നു.

Canada is planning to rebuild its relationship with China by treating it as a strategic partner instead of an adversary. The government aims to strengthen economic ties while keeping national security and human rights as priorities.

Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said Canada will follow a pragmatic and balanced approach—continuing to protect public safety while also working to expand trade and supply chains.

Talks are underway to update the 2005 Canada–China Strategic Partnership, making it more suitable for today’s global situation. Canada is also seeking stronger links with other Asia-Pacific countries as part of its broader Indo-Pacific strategy.

At the same time, Canada faces pressure from the United States, which has concerns about trade and tariffs. Experts say Canada must move carefully and communicate clearly to maintain trust with both Washington and Beijing.

The government says its main goal is to reduce economic stress, diversify exports, and create stable trade options in areas like energy and manufacturing—all while staying committed to human rights and international rules.
