The increase is designed to help workers cope with the rising costs of everyday essentials.

In addition to general minimum wage workers, this raise will also benefit specific groups such as residential caretakers and app-based delivery workers. Furthermore, the minimum pay rates for 15 hand-harvested crops will see a 2.6% increase starting December 31, 2025.

Annual wage increases will be implemented each year on June 1, while the pay rates for agricultural piece work will be adjusted on December 31, ensuring that harvest operations are not disrupted. These measures are aligned with the government’s goals to alleviate poverty and promote economic equity in British Columbia.
